Mission Statement
The Affordable Housing Coalition of Larimer County promotes the increase of affordable housing throughout Larimer County through Research, Community Education and Advocacy in both the public and private sectors.
The Coalition believes:
- That a full continuum of housing types are essential for a healthy community. This continuum includes everything from shelters through subsidized and market rentals as well as homeownership opportunities.
- In maintaining the availability of housing for all our community's residents including, but not limited to, the disabled, seniors, and low income families and individuals.
- That a sufficient supply of housing throughout the continuum cannot be achieved through public and non-profit efforts alone. Private/for-profit housing providers and developers must be encouraged and provided incentives to participate in filling the low income housing market niche.
- That our community has a fiduciary responsibility to ensure that scarce affordable housing resources are expended on projects which meet actual housing needs and demonstrate maximum product quality yet incur a minimal financial burden
