SUMMER PROGRAMS AT EQUALIZER POND

Sponsored by
Fort Collins Audubon Society

Join us each month this summer and fall for a program and scope viewing of Equalizer Pond. On Thursday, May 27, at 6:00 p.m., the largest group ever gathered for a delightful show of birds—courting, nesting, and migrating.

Two Western Grebes performed their courting ritual of neck bobbing and then dancing across the water. We watched the female Osprey on the nest with the male standing guard on the perch. We spotted a Spotted Sandpiper, stopping to feed on his way to higher altitudes. Killdeer and swallows buzzed around and geese and ducks fed on the lake. A tern, either Forster’s or Common, flashed us overhead twice.

We invite you to join us for a summer adventure. Directions and list of the dates and times are below.
