What Do Harmony House Volunteers Do?

Harmony House volunteers provide a neutral homelike setting for supervised visits between children and their parents when ordered by the court system following a divorce, foster care placement, or other legal action separating children from their parents. Volunteers also facilitate an exchange of children between custodial and noncustodial parents in a nonconfrontational setting.

Harmony House is operated by a caring, experienced team of knowledgable staff and trained volunteer supervisors.

What Happens if Problems Arise During Visits?

The Harmony House supervisor will assess the situation and offer suggestions. If the problem cannot be resolved, the visit may end. A determination will then be made as to whether or not the family may continue to use the facility. The child's safety and comfort are of primary importance.
