TOUCHING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN
ONE CHILD AT A TIME.
Our Services
Children's Clinic services are designed to provide individual medical care
to each child, as well as teach, encourage, assist, and support families in
becoming better care providers. Our services include the following areas.
- Initial Contact
- Experienced registered nurses handle initial patient telephone contact,
giving parents and other concerned parties friendly assurance while assessing
each other, offering advice, or scheduling appointments.
- Newborn Infants
- A priority at the clinic, newborn infants from the Poudre Valley Hospital
Prenatal Program receive postnatal exams and early parental guidance.
- Acute Care
- Emergency care, laboratory work, and treatment are provided by the clinic,
often at no cost to the patient.
- Chronic Care
- Patients with chronic medical conditions receive long-term care when
necessary.
- Community Health and Immunization Program
- The clinic takes contagious diseases seriously and provides immunizations
designed to protect not only the children, but also the community.
- Social Work
- Patient care is often compromised by multiple social problems within the
family. Staff social workers confer with medical practitioners, families,
patients, and various community agencies to provide parental options in the
management of a child's health and general wellbeing. The social workers operate
from a "family systems" approach and believe strongly in prevention and
education when dealing with the social issues that impact medical care.
- Dispensary
- Local pharmacists donate their time to prepare standard prescriptions that
are then dispensed to patients by clinic doctors either at no charge or for
a nominal fee. Many of the medicines are donated or provided at a greatly
reduced cost by local pharmacies or national pharmaceutical companies.
