What is the Foundation on Aging? The Foundation on Aging of Larimer County was founded as a private non-profit corporation in 1986 and was supported by the Larimer County Commissioners and the Larimer County Office on Aging. A major portion of the Foundation's investment, over $95,000, comes from the bequest of the late Mildred Arnold, an active and concerned senior citizen in our community who wanted her life's savings to help elderly persons who have needs which might otherwise not be met. Other individuals have contributed throughout the years. Interest on our principal investment and designated gifts are used, upon approval by the Board, to award grants as requested usually by agencies serving seniors and occasionally by individuals. Our purpose is to develop proposals for grants-in-aid and to seek private sources and donations to support the work of senior organizations and older Americans in Larimer County. |
