they want to target and how they want to proceed. Conversion of their
"Health Aware" bulletin is on hold.
- Tourist Bureau - a button for this information will be added to FortNet's top
level menu by combining news and weather and freeing up a button. Scott
Bayes and Lisa Beal continue to work on building the content and acquiring
photos. Other volunteers and ideas are welcome.
- 4-H Club - this information will be converted by Karen Holman as part of her
effort to train the Larimer County Extension Staff.
- Transfort - development of web pages for Transfort showing bus routes
superimposed on a City map is restarting. Lisa Beal presented a concept to
Transfort management (which they liked) and will implement it. John Payne
will assist.

create an html page for this small business. Info provider packet is in

about putting both these organization on FortNet. Mary Ellen Buning will

Issues Discussed
- Community Information Provider Packets were handed out to all in
attendance. They can be photocopied and distributed further. Legal
agreements need to be signed *before* information is included in the web.
Information carrying over from the Pilot *need* new legal agreements signed.
Agreements are slow coming in at present. If legal agreements do not begin
to come in soon, a policy regarding removing information from the web will be
developed and implemented.
- Howie will create an FTP directory called "html/todo" to receive uploaded
ascii text and GIF files that need to be converted to html. Volunteers will
enter their name as they take the assignment. A "Readme" should accompany
each file/task to give the html volunteer instructions about the document.
- Online application for community information providers - This will speed up
the process of making community organizations and businesses aware of the
process for getting information on FortNet. Even "guests" will be able to
see this information. A button called "Sign Up" at the bottom of FortNet
pages will be redesigned so that it allows both sign up for a FortNet
subscription application to be a community information provider. Howie will
develop a form to allow "on line" application which when completed will be
sent to an email address called "provider@linden.fortnet.org." This
Community Information Provider sign up section will include procedures,
directions for locating html development tools, and templates for FortNet web
documents.
- Revision of Web page documents Documents - In order to relieve the logjam
created when "webmasters only" have access to correcting and updating
documents the current policy was described. HTML documents need to be
created by individuals who are FortNet subscribers with full internet access.
An organization or business may do this themselves or they may find/hire a
sponsor. Community information providers or their sponsors need to have the
ability to create html documents to FortNet specifications and the ability to
place them within their directory within their allotted disk storage space on
the FortNet server. The html documents will reside in the
subscriber's/sponsor's directory so that revisions and updates can take place
whenever needed. Newcommunity information that does not have a link from the
FortNet web server should be placed in the subscribers directory and
announced should be announced via email sent to the webmaster requesting that
a link be placed on the appropriate FortNet menus.
- All FortNet community information providers will need to have full internet
accounts or have a sponsor who does.
- Legal Agreements with City Departments - FortNet completed html conversion
of many pieces of city information under the service agreement that comprised
the pilot. The pilot was completed on Dec. 31, 1994. There is a new service
agreement being developed for 1995 but it will not provide blanket coverage
for information from all city departments.
- Page of the Day - a discussion arose about using this as a way to draw
attention to new html documents. The "What's New on FortNet" button tends to
do this at the present but this may be a good idea for the future.
- FortNet.HTML News Group to be created - a local news group to discuss the
html process will be created after the meeting. A group called
"html.flame..." will also be added. This will allow the html discussion to
be open to all on FortNet who are interested. The html listserve will be
used for announcements, agendas, minutes, etc.
- Emergency Medical Services Statewide homepage - Mary Ellen asked if anyone
knew people in the local emergency medical services community who would be
interested in developing local web pages that could link to a Colorado EMS
webpage. Ethan Gannet of LCSAR will be contacted for a possible name.
