Sorry, guys. I choked. I didn't get everyone's name. Mea culpa.
[I tried to fix names where I could, folks! - L.Beal]

Old Business

  1. Status of Current HTML Assignments

  2. FortNet HTML QA standards (Lisa) - first round of comments has been incorporated; second draft is available for further inspection (in Lisa's directory). After any further comments are dealt with, the standards will be officially posted.

  3. FortNet Help page - Terry and Lisa will discuss possible refinements off-line.

New Business

  1. About New HTML Assignments

  2. "Hate mail" and sponsor's email addresses. Terry expressed concern over hostile email being received re: the Crossroads Safehouse page. Rather than posting the sponsor's actual email address on FortNet pages, it was suggested that aliases be set up to receive comments. The webmasters will take care of this.

  3. Server security issues. Howie reported that the CERN httpd has been modified to address HP's concerns re:write permissions and cgi-bin access. Also, the NCSA httpd will be made available for testing purposes, to allow HTML'ers to learn more about webmastering without breaking the system. Howie will notify the group by email as developments unfold. Alternate port TBA.

  4. Recruiting other presenters. This was Howie's agenda item (and who can blame him?). The following presentations have been lined up:

Miscellaneous and Action Items

  1. Lisa will keep track of agenda items [to be collected prior to each HTML meeting]. These must be emailed to lbeal@fortnet.org no later than the Friday before the next meeting, so the items may be incorporated into a preliminary agenda for the meeting.

  2. Weblint will be placed in usr/local/bin to be executable by everyone.

  3. A central repository will be created for the Information Provider forms, HTML QA stuff, agenda items, meeting minutes, and so forth.

Presentation

There was no presentation.

Next HTML Meeting Scheduled:

Minutes submitted by Terry Burton.
[Thanks for your work on this, Terry! -LMB]
