FORT COLLINS-- Area non-profits can team with FortNet to have their organization's web page hosted and designed for free.
FortNet (www.fortnet.org), a non-profit organization working to inform and educate the Fort Collins community about the Internet, has created web pages, at no charge, for over 100 area non-profit organizations, including Respite Care, Poudre Landmarks Foundation and the Larimer County Food Distribution Center. The free web-page design service is not available to for-profit businesses. FortNet volunteers who design the web pages are eager to partner with more non-profits in getting their information on-line.
"Our goal is to build a 'virtual' Fort Collins community on the Internet," said Neil Allen, FortNet executive director. "One way we can do this is to help as many non-profits establish an Internet presence. Fort Collins has a strong history of supporting the non-profit community. That support, FortNet believes, can extend to the Internet as well."
Since its inception in 1994, FortNet has served as the local leader in building Fort Collins' presence on the Internet and the community's understanding of Internet technologies. FortNet's services include a comprehensive community-information website, free monthly Internet classes, a free Community Center with computers linked to the Internet for public use, the annual Community Internet Festival that draws nearly 1000 participants and much more.
Non-profits interested in learning more about FortNet's free web-page design can call FortNet at 224-5991.
