FORT COLLINS-- Like other progressive American cities, Fort Collins boasts a citywide Internet center where residents can access the Web at no charge.
FortNet (www.fortnet.org), a non-profit organization working to inform and educate the Fort Collins community about the Internet, offers its Community Center, located at 145 E. Mountain Ave., in downtown Fort Collins. The Center features seven computer stations residents can use to access the Internet for free.
The downtown Center is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. The computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Printing and downloading are available.
Since its inception in 1994, FortNet has served as the local leader in building Fort Collins' presence on the Internet and the community's understanding of Internet technologies. FortNet's services include a comprehensive community-information website, free monthly Internet classes, a free Community Center with computers linked to the Internet for public use, the annual Community Internet Festival that draws over 1000 participants and much more.
