FORT COLLINS - Whether you're a web-savvy resident aware of the ins and outs of web-page design or a beginner wanting to learn more about this in-demand skill, FortNet invites you to help build Web pages for area non-profit organizations.

FortNet (www.fortnet.org), a non-profit organization working to inform and educate the Fort Collins community about the Internet, is expanding its HTML Team, which helps local non-profits design and produce Web pages at no charge.

The first team meeting this season is Wednesday, August 26, 1998 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Front Range Internet’s Conference Room located on the second floor at 213 Linden Street, Suite 200.

"We're looking for people who are committed to helping non-profits expand their Internet presence and build a 'virtual' Fort Collins community," said Neil Allen, FortNet executive director. "In the past three years, we've had many volunteers serve on our HTML Team. Through their participation with FortNet, several have gained enough skills that helped them start their own web-design companies or enter the profession as consultants after their FortNet experience."

Since its inception in 1994, FortNet has served as the local leader in building Fort Collins' presence on the Internet and the community's understanding of Internet technologies. FortNet's services include a comprehensive community-information website, free monthly Internet classes, a free Community Center with computers linked to the Internet for public use, the annual Community Internet Festival that draws over 1000 participants and much more.
