FORT COLLINS - The Board of Directors of FortNet-The Community Information Network, wishes to announce that after a four year affiliation with FortNet, Mr. Neil Allen has resigned his position as Executive Director to relocate to the southern part of Utah to be closer to family.
Neil was part of the start up of FortNet in 1994. He was responsible for the development of ServiceNet and oversaw its growth into Larimer County's primary Information and Referral service for human services. Most recently he has been instrumental in the organization of FortNet’s Community Internet Festivals, teaching the monthly class "Introduction to the Internet", and the reconstruction of FortNet’s web site. He will be missed in our community and at FortNet.
Effective November 1, Jill Lenz, formerly Assistant Executive Director, will take over as Interim Executive Director. In Jill's affiliation with FortNet for the last two years, she has demonstrated excellent relationships with the Information Providers, the 125+ non-profit organizations which FortNet partners with to create and host web sites. Jill also coordinates publicity, the HTML volunteers, and teaches the monthly class "Introduction to Web Browsers".
Since it’s inception in 1994, FortNet has served as the local leader in building Fort Collins’ presence on the Internet and the community’s understanding of Internet technologies. FortNet’s services include its comprehensive community information website (www.fortnet.org), monthly Internet classes, the annual Community Internet Festival that draws over 1,000 participants and much more.
