When longtime Fort Collins resident Lydia Hoffman passed away,
her heirs wanted to be sure that the house she had lived in and
loved for so long would be preserved. Historic Fort Collins
worked with her heirs on a strategy to ensure that future owners
would not change the intact exterior of the historic vernacular
Victorian residence. HFCDC developed an easement program so
that the organization could accept façade easements on
properties such as the Hoffman House, to ensure their preservation
in perpetuity.
