N O R T H E R N - H O T E L 
Once the Linden Hotel had been rehabilitated, Historic Fort Collins
turned its attention to the other major anchor in Old Town, the
Northern Hotel. In 1997, with grants from the Colorado Historical
Society and the City of Fort Collins, HFCDC sponsored a "Community
Initiated Development" workshop focused on the Northern
Hotel. The 3-day intensive workshop was attended by owner Bill
Starke, city officials and preservationists from throughout the
region, and was led by national preservation real estate expert
Don Rypkema. The workshop focused city attention on the building
and its reuse possibilities.
