The Community Information Network
213 Linden Street, Suite 230
Fort Collins, CO 80524-2462

Dear Future Community Information Provider,

You are invited to participate in the creation of a community network. FortNet, a public supported non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, acts as an electronic "information network".... a place for local citizens to learn, discuss, ask questions, persuade, and participate with others on issues of community significance.

FortNet serves Northern Colorado. Any community member can view FortNet's information.

We invite you to make information about your organization or club available to the community, and to the world, via FortNet. Please follow the instructions found in the list of Information Provider Policies to begin the process of getting your organization represented on the World Wide Web via FortNet.

The information seen on FortNet's World Wide Web server is created by converting word processed documents into HTML format. HTML allows easy navigation with any kind of computer to browse through menus and documents. FortNet offers instruction in creating HTML documents and also has volunteers who can assist community organizations with this effort. An Internet e-mail address must be associated with all community information. Call FortNet's office if you have questions.

There is no fee* for putting civic information on FortNet or using its resources to create a local listserv. Since FortNet's efforts are sustained by grants, contributions and gifts, we ask you to make a contribution to FortNet based on your ability to support this service. * Their will be a fee for hosting webpages with their own Domain Name (URL). Contact our office for more information, or email Provider.

We look forward to partnering with you in efforts to increase community collaboration, communication and awareness of our Northern Colorado Community. Please accept our invitation to further contribute as a volunteer or potential board member. You will keep one step ahead in your knowledge of the Internet.

Jim Bernecker
Chair, FortNet Board of Directors
