Red Feather Lakes Community Library

The Red Feather Lakes Community Library will hold its Memorial Day book sale on the following dates:

24 May, 12:00 to 5:00 PM
25 May, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
26 May, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
27 May, 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM

June Open House at Virginia Dale Stage Station

The Virginia Dale Community Club is hosting an open house at the Virginia Dale Stage Station the weekend of 8 June 2012 to celebrate the Stage Station's 150th year. The station was built in 1862, and is the only stage station that is still in its original location along the Overland Trail. This event is the Virginia Dale Community Club's largest fund raiser, and the Club is seeking donations of items for the General Store and Silent Auction. All proceeds are used to help preserve the Stage Station and the Hurzeler House. The latter, which dates from 1909, houses the Community Club's kitchen and meeting facilities. All events sponsored by the Community Club are free and open to the public.

The festivities begin Friday evening, 8 June, at 7:00 PM with a live band, Barely Gettin' By, and pie auction. Saturday's (9 June) events include a craft show, raffle of a quilt made by members of the Community Club, sale of items at the General Store, historical speakers, and games. The craft show continues on Sunday (10 June); additional events are a Civil War display, horseshoe tournament, games, picnic (BYO), and much more. All details, including contact information for donations and a picture of the quilt that is being raffled, are available HERE. Tickets for the quilt raffle are $1.00 each. A Barbara Moore print of the Stage Station also will be raffled off at the celebration. Those tickects are $25 each. Use this LINK to see a picture of the print.
