Congrats to "Newly Installed" Commander Tony Abbott and his new officers!

A Message from Commander Tony Abbott

Our election is over, and the new officers have been installed. We're
coming up on a new membership year, so get your 2010 renewal in as soon as
you can after July 1st.  We will have the new membership cards available at
the next meeting, and we would like to hit our 100% goal as soon as we can;
this will be 10 consecutive years.
  We're looking forward to another great year, and the thing that will make
it great is participation from ALL of our members.
  Our next meeting is on Tue., 14 July, 1900 hrs. Don't be AWOL.

We worked hard for our programs, Children and Youth, Americanism, National Security and the betterment of our fellow Veterans, Come JOIN US!

Dust off your medals and wear them with Pride!

The 'Veterans Pride Initiative' is to remind Americans of the pride and honor in the hearts of those who served. We expect Americans will see our decorated heroes unite in spirit at ceremonies, in parades and elsewhere as a compelling symbol of courage and sacrifice on Veterans Day, the day we set aside to thank those who served and safeguarded our national security. So get those medals out and lets wear them with pride!

Preamble to the Constitution of The American Legion

For God and Country
We associate ourselves together for the following purposes:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
To maintain law and order;
To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;
To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars;
To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
To make right the master of might;
To promote peace and goodwill on earth;
To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;
To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

 Always remember our POW and MIA's.

They must never be forgotten
