Cost efficient and cost effective are more than words when it comes to
the program operations in Region 3 - Larimer County. Under the
auspices of Poudre Valley Health System/Foundation, Bright Beginnings
benefits from strong oversight, in-kind operating expenses, and service
accountability. Our small budget links families of infants to the
unique community resources and services in our area. Knowledge is power!
Program Staffing - Based on a volunteer model, the half time Coordinator trains and organizes the volunteer visitors, writes grants, and fulfills administrative tasks. Currently, an AmeriCorps Member grant provides two full time AmeriCorps volunteers for community outreach. Gift Bag Funding - Each free gift bag holds a wealth of resources for parents of newborn babies. Human contact by our trained volunteers makes a world of difference to parents as they become better equipped to manage the daunting challenges of parenting. The content value of each bag is approximately $40. This cost is offset by the contributions of local groups and programs, and core materials provided by the state office. General Operating Funds - In addition to the contribution of materials, program operations for Moving On, volunteer training, and staffing have been provided by grants and donations from local/regional businesses and foundations. The following benefactors are currently providing significant financial support for program operations:
