Nominees will be asked to fill out a questionnaire by October 12, 2008.  CWMA members will be mailed ballots and candidate bios on October 22, 2008 in order to vote by mail.  The ballots must be returned to the CWMA Committee Chair by November 18th.  The ballots will be totaled and results will be revealed at CWMA Annual Conference and Trade Show on November 19th at the Sheraton Denver West in Lakewood .  Thank you!

Requirements

Nominees for the Board of Directors must be current members of CWMA, reside within the State of Colorado and have the ability to attend approximately 6 meetings per year and an interest in helping to direct CWMA's future.

Mission

Directors of CWMA should be interested in assisting this organization achieve its mission.  The mission of CWMA is to provide education, regulatory direction, professional improvement, and environmental awareness to preserve and protect our natural resources from the degrading impacts of exotic, invasive noxious vegetation in Colorado and surrounding states.  

Objectives

Directors of CWMA should be interested in working together to achieve the objectives of the organization.  The objectives are as follows:

- To encourage the proper use of integrated weed management practices within the state of Colorado .

- To establish weed management priorities needing attention in the state.

- To promote education that encourages public awareness of exotic, invasive noxious vegetation that leads to sound and sustaining land stewardship.

- To promote university programs in applied research and extension that will address exotic, invasive noxious vegetation problems in Colorado and surrounding states. To support and foster cooperation with commercial, private, and public organizations/interests within Colorado and surrounding states for the resolution of exotic, invasive noxious vegetation problems. To update and maintain state legislation pertaining to exotic, invasive noxious vegetation and their management.

No substantial part of the activities of the organization shall be for the carrying of propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the organization shall not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distribution of statements) any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for office.
