September 22 "Blue Eyed" -- with comments by Mark Benn, Psychologist, Colorado State University
Jane Elliott, a retired school teacher, originated the Blue Eyes Brown Eyes exercise in the 1960s to demonstrate to her students how harmful the myth of White superiority is, and what it meant to be Black in America. “. . . people can best be motivated to fight discrimination by experiencing it themselves.”

September 29 "Mi Familia" -- with presentation by Isabel Rodriguez Thacker, Parent & Community Liaison, PSD
Mi Familia, produced by Francis Ford Coppola, and starring Jimmy Smits and Edward James Olmos, chronicles five generations of a Mexican-American family's experience in the United States. RATED R

October 13 "Mississippi Masala" -- with speaker Blane Harding, Lecturer at Colorado State University Center for Applied Studies in American Ethnicity .
Denzel Washington stars in this drama about a romance between a black man and an East Indian woman in small town Mississippi. The film explores stereotypes harbored by both racial groups, but does so with grace and humor. “Passion. Tradition. Mix It Up. Romeo and Juliet had it easy.” RATED R

October 20 "Journey to a Hatefree Millennium" -- with comments by Barbara Catbagan Spalding, Human Rights Resource and Education Office, City of Fort Collins.
"Journey to a Hate Free Millennium" is the inspirational award-winning documentary that seeks solutions to the horrible hate crimes that have become frequent events in our daily lives.

Presented by Foothills Unitarian Church with a grant from Fort Fund, additional support from the Northern Colorado Multicultural Corporation and participation from the Human Relations Commission of the City of Fort Collins.
