September 17 "Crash" with Mark Benn, University Counseling
Colorado State University
A provocative look at the complexities of racial conflict in America that challenges
audiences to question their own prejudices. This compelling urban drama tracks the
volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast, examining fear and bigotry from
multiple perspectives as characters careen in and out of one another’s lives.
September 24 "Dying to Live" with Norberto Valdez, Social Anthropology,
Colorado State University
A profound look at the human face of the migrant. It explores who these people are, why
they leave their homes and what they face in their journey. It is a reflection on the
human struggle for a more dignified life and the search to find God in the midst of it all.
October 1 "Lost Boys of Sudan" with Wal Peter Biet, One of the
Lost Boys.
An astonishing tale of two young men out of the thousands of young Dinka boys and girls
who were orphaned and made refugees by Sudan's brutal 20-year civil war. The distances
traveled by the "lost boys" encompass a world of rapid movement and jarring contrasts,
and reveal both great social divisions and remarkable human links in the 21st century
global village.
October 8 "O.T.: Our Town" with Earlie Thomas, Environmental Health
Services, CSU, and Local Actor
Dominguez High School – with an explosive culture of black and Hispanic youths and dismal
outlook of school life – had not produced a play in 20 years. This documentary chronicles
the month and a half before the opening night performance of their version of Thornton
Wilder’s classic play.
