Every year since 1985, hundreds of people have gathered to listen, sing, visualize and experience the furthering of Peace on Earth. And they've done it in conjunction with many around the world at twelve noon Greenwich Time, which in Fort Collins is 5:00 A.M. (!) on December 31st. This is the early morning of the last day of DECEMBER before New Year's Eve daily activities and evening celebrations. Many people have participated every year and find it to be a delightful and profound pilgrimage of hope and renewal. The doors for this event open at 4:30 a.m. and the program begins at 4:45 a.m. to give everyone a chance to get prepared and mindful for the 5:00 a.m. silent 20 minutes for peace. Following the silence is 40 minutes of a variety of entertaining and interactive celebrations for and of peace. Following the Dec 31st early morning Hour for Peace many local restaurants specially open for your early dining pleasure. |
