COMMUNITY
INVOLVEMENT
____________________________________________________________
The Jaycees offer Community Development by helping members identify areas within the
community where assistance is needed, and then assisting members in developing a constructive
plan of action to provide solutions.
Each year, the Fort Collins Jaycees conduct several community service projects to assist various groups throughout Fort Collins, the state of Colorado, and even the world. These projects are
geared toward:
l
Youth: Projects include our Community Easter Egg Hunt,
Fishing Derby, Wrap Up A Wish for Christmas, JAYS - Jaycees Against Youth Smoking, Kids’ Safety Day and more!
l
Economically Disadvantaged: Projects include Blizzard Boxes
for the Elderly, Wrap Up A Wish for Christmas, coat and shoe drives and more!
l
Our Local Community: Projects include a
Haunted House, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, blood drives, helping with the Pinewood Derby, Youth Baseball League, and more!
l
Our National and International Community: Projects include a Bowl-a-Thon and Chili for Children benefiting the Junior
Chamber Family AIDS Network and various fund-raisers for the East Africa Center, Florida Hurricane Relief, Tsunami Disaster Relief and more!
l
The Fort Collins Jaycees also created the
Thomas J. McComb/Fort Collins Jaycees Youth Fund, which gives grants to youth programs and organizations within Larimer County. We
raise money for the fund each year with a benefit golf tournament in June.

The
Jaycees host an annual pool tournament in the spring
to benefit the Children's Clinic/Salud.
