There was no Treasurer's Report at this committee meeting.
We need to find a new volunteer to take over as Treasurer. The committee
discussed what should be done if no new Treasure could be found. One option was
to stop all purchases (this would include all Cub Scout awards). This is a big
concern for the committee because the end of the year graduation is coming in
May. Normally the pack buys the scouts their new neck-er-chief for the May pack
meeting. Therefore, it was asked if all Den Leaders could ask the parents about
filling the Treasures position.
Helping Hand Award Nominations:
Kay asked for Helping Hand Award Nominations.
Quick Feedback on Recent Scouting Activities:
Pinewood Derby:
All the committee members present stated that the Pinewood
derby was well done and a huge success. Barbara Clayton volunteered to send
Sally Fox a thank you note for giving Pack 191 the space at the "Square".
Awards:
Awards forms are due on April 15, 2004 to Jennifer Ochwat.
All Den Leaders are required to turn in Service Request
forms to Jennifer Ochwat at the April committee meeting. This can be done on any
piece of paper. The report needs to state how many years each scout in your den
has been in scouting.
Pack Meeting Planning:
Steve Tucker went over the agenda for the April Pack
meeting.
The guest speaker will be Mary Laszlo, a sixth grade
teacher at Werner. She will talk about robotics.
The announcements at the Pack meeting will include (a)
Pinewood derby results
(b) Day Camp (c) Volunteer positions that desperately need
filled: are the Treasurer, Assistant Cub master, Popcorn Kernel, and an editor
for creating a power point presentation for recruiting purposes.
Youth Protection Training:
Judi Urlocker passed out papers to the Den Leaders so they
could renew their youth protection training on the internet. Several leaders at
the committee meeting stated they had already done the training and it was easy
and only took 15 to 30 minutes of their time. Judi stated it needed to be
completed by April 30, 2004. Den Leaders should contact her when they have
completed the training.
Bacon/Werner Pack Split:
Den leaders were asked to complete a list that Kay handed
around the room. It stated whether the scouts would be staying in Pack 191 or
going to the Bacon Pack.
Summertime Activities Planning:
Kay asked if any committee members had any ideas for
summertime activities. Judi Urlocker mentioned family camping and Steve Tucker
mentioned a pool party.
Den Assignments:
