Another goal of the Trust is to preserve the
historic significance of the Poudre River.

The Trust was instrumental in the discussions
that led to the proposed National Water
Heritage Commission for the Poudre Basin.
Designation by Congress will bring additional
attention to the historical development of
water in Northern Colorado and offer
increased educational opportunities for all
citizens.

The Trust works with various entities to
provide easier access to the river from Old
Town that will tie the riverfront more
closely to downtown Fort Collins.
