Since this is truly a county-wide issue and concern, we ask that you give serious consideration to the ramifications of this ill-advised plan.

About Us: The Rock Ridge Preservation Society is a nonprofit organization, interested primarily in property rights, zoning and environmental issues in Larimer County. Some of our members are landowners whose properties are located adjacent to the applicant's proposed amphitheater and building sites, but the vast majority of our members are other county residents who are also concerned that the impact of this project would erode the scenic quality and character of the Mouth of the Big Thompson Scenic Corridor, become a financial burden to taxpayers, a drain on county resources, and produce urban problems in an environmentally sensitive agricultural area which cannot accommodate the infrastructure and buildings required by the plan.

Fact Sheet: Find out how you can help promote the preservation of this area by stopping this plan. The fact sheet informs you about key concerns and gives ideas and contacts for taking action. The myth-facts sheet dispels common misunderstandings regarding the proposal. It also is designed for you to fold and mail into the county to voice your concerns. Just print out these files (one page, both sides) for an easy hand-out to your friends, neighbors and associates.

Executive Summary: Our executive summary states our purpose, outlines the significant problems inherent in the applicant's plan, reinforces the county's own concerns with the preliminary proposal, raises considerable and profound questions regarding unintended consequences for all of Larimer County's citizens, and counters the many inconsistencies and irregularities in the applicant's formal proposal. This executive summary constitutes our initial response to the plan and was given to the Larimer County Planning Committee on February 16th, 2004. The preamble to the executive summary highlights our goals and concerns. The complete seventeen-page executive summary (with preamble) is available here for downloading.

Gallery: View a photo of the applicant's current site and a photo of what the site would look like, should the proposal be approved, with an (*)estimated 33 acres of parking lots for 3,500-plus cars (a realistic artist's rendering added cars and parking lots). Notice the gridlock on Hwy 34 as vehicles enter into a single-access amphitheater site. The highway would become an "offramp."

Updates: Look for updates and upcoming meetings and events as they become available.
