High Wilderness Backpacking Trip

Groups 7 - 10
Completed Grades 9 - 12 & Adults
Offered Weeks 3 - 8
$420 per person

Step away from the familiar and start exploring God’s creation in these pristine Rocky Mountains. Sky Ranch has a long history of taking youth out on trail and seeing sites enjoyed by few others.
Experience the thrill of summiting a peak and seeing for miles in every direction. Challenge yourself as you walk through a high alpine meadow. Feel the peace of sleeping next to a mountain stream.

All trips leave directly from camp into the more than one million acres of public land surrounding our property. Trips go into the Roosevelt National Forest, the Comanche Wilderness Area, and a remote corner of Rocky Mountain National Park. There are exhilarating route options for everyone, including those who have never been on trail and those who have climbed all around the world. A life changing trip is calling.

Trip Options

Wilderness Journey

Surprise yourself with a traditional loop backpacking trek. The Wilderness Journey will take you over high mountain passes, to the top of peaks, and to hidden streams and lakes. Each trip is geared to your group’s wants and abilities. This is a trip into the high country that you’ll never forget.

Timberline Trail

Timberline Trail trips establish a base camp high in the mountains in order to take day hikes to locations not normally reached with full gear. Enjoy camping near rock formations or in cool, wooded forests near timberline. Day routes vary according to group ability but choices include scenic overlooks above timberline, hidden lakes filled with trout, or the site of a B-17 crash.
